Day #11: No Easter Plan

Posted on April 9, 2020April 9, 2020 by Ernest Tuape

Today was supposed to be the first day of my Easter Holiday plan. This is how it should’ve unfolded.

I’d find my way to the city of Venice. I’d take a boat ride on the canals that twist and turn around the city, dipping my hands in the water, calling swans and ducks my way and playing with dolphins to enhance my touristy experience.

I’d then head to Florence, a city where culture and history live together. I’d breath in the air and explore the architectural genius of this city. This place would remind me of Florence, a girl on whom I never had a crush.

My next leg would be to Pisa. I’d stand under the sunny sky and delight in the moderate breeze. I’d take a picture at the Leaning Tower of Pisa. And there, I’d eat pizza.

I’d then think of whether to go to Milan or Rome. Being catholic, I’d be tempted to go to Rome. But Milan would call my name.

Then Covid_19 happened. The plan has crumbled. And I’ve stayed in my studio apartment resting my head on a cushion, this laptop on my laps, knees bent and my legs pushing on the arm of the couch.

What will I do this Easter? I don’t know. Maybe I’ll read children’s jokes from “The Big Book Of Silly Jokes For Kids.” I found it on Kindle.

***

What did the nose say to the finger?

“Quit picking on me!”

Who’s the queen of the pencil case?

The ruler.

What else did the picture say to the wall?

“Help! I’ve been framed.”

Wow, very realistic. The pre- COVID-19 Easter plan would have been quite an escaped. Does the The Big Book Of Silly Jokes For Kids have those famous lines you write at the end?

My plans were very similar too… except they weren’t about going to Italy, they were about going somewhere, anywhere, provided I could afford and the way my bank balance is set up the only place I could afford was to walk down the road and buy some lemon creams biscuits from a house with a little tuck shop by the gate….. Turns out I cant even walk that far, lockdown

“The Big Book Of Silly Jokes For Kids.” sounds stupidly hilarious here’s a joke:
What did the cute nurse say to the covid patient.. if covid does not take you out can I?

Damn! Lockdown is showing us what’s really important and what we should value the most, in case we were taking those things forgranted.

B, your joke is Dark and funny. Hahahahah.

Italy would definitely make for beautiful pictures and blog posts!
I had plans too, bought tickets, the earliest reservation I have ever made, months in advance and a great deal too…I was so proud of myself. Then COVID, the apocalypse, happened and sunk that ship.

So Easter will be spent traveling through “my studio”….. I have the tropical area, where my fruits are…..I have the view from the hotel…”my window”…..I have the all you can eat buffet…”fridge”… and cocktail through out the day….”the wine bottles”. …and the Hammock of course….”my bed”….

    I loved the jokes!

True. Italy would’ve been really nice. It’s unfortunate that many things have come to a standstill.

Have a good time making Easter memories in your elaborate studio. Hehehehe.
